Good value for a nice jumper

I was looking for a decent wool jumper and found Peregrine Clothing. I ended up getting the Hudson Aran Jumper during their seasonal sale, which saved me a good chunk of money. The quality feels really solid, especially for what I paid. It shipped to my place in Ohio in about 8 days, which wasn't too bad. I was a bit worried about ordering from the UK, but it was a smooth process overall. Definitely felt like I got my money's worth.

Jacket is great

I got the Bexley Jacket last month and it's pretty nice. It took about a week to get here, which was fine. The fit is good and it feels well-made. I've worn it a few times already and it's holding up.

Solid quality, decent delivery

I ordered a Skiddaw Jumper a few weeks ago. The ordering process on the website was straightforward enough, though I did have a quick question about sizing that I emailed them about. They got back to me within 24 hours, which was good. Delivery took 9 days to reach New York, which I thought was reasonable for an international shipment. The jumper itself is very well-made; the British wool feels robust and it's quite warm. It's exactly as described on their site. I followed their washing instructions and it held its shape perfectly. No complaints.

Consistent quality as always

This was my third purchase from Peregrine Clothing, and I picked up a Porter Roll Neck this time. Just like my previous orders (a Waxed Cotton Jacket and a Beanie Hat), the quality is consistent. It arrived within the estimated timeframe, roughly a week and a half, same as before. The knit is tight, and the wool feels good. I keep coming back because their stuff lasts, and the sizing is reliable. Good to see they're keeping up the standard.

Hey, thinking about grabbing one of those Hudson Aran Jumpers. How do these typically fit? Should I size up or down for a comfy fit?

J Justin Baker 3 days ago
I'd say they're pretty true to size, maybe a touch on the snug side if you like it really roomy. My usual size was fine though.

For the Aran, I went with my normal size and it was perfect. Not too tight, not baggy. If you're on the fence or want to layer, maybe size up, but otherwise, stick with your usual.

What's the deal with their 'sustainable' claims? Is it just greenwashing or are they actually doing stuff?

J Justin Young 1 week ago
They seem pretty legit. Everything's made in the UK, so lower carbon footprint from shipping, and they use natural fibers. Plus, 8 generations in, they've probably been doing it 'sustainably' before it was a buzzword.

I looked into it a bit too. The UK manufacturing and using British wool are big points. They talk a lot about ethical production and lasting quality, which is definitely part of sustainability.

Thinking of trying one of their waxed jackets, maybe the Bexley. Are they actually waterproof or just, like, water resistant?

B Brandon Brown 3 weeks ago
They're proper waterproof, not just splash proof. I've been out in some decent rain in mine and stayed totally dry. They use good wax.

Mine handles rain really well. It's not like a hardcore rain shell, but for general downpours, it's solid. You might want to re-wax it after a while to keep it top-notch though.

Do they ever do a student discount? Trying to save a few bucks on a new jumper for winter.

D Daniel T. 1 week ago
Pretty sure they do, yeah. I remember seeing something about it on their site or maybe when I signed up for the newsletter. Worth checking their discount page.

Yeah, I used one last semester. Look for UNiDAYS or Student Beans, I think it was one of those.

How's their return policy for US customers? Easy to send stuff back if it doesn't fit?

M Matt Smith 3 weeks ago
Yeah returns were easy, did it last month. Just follow the instructions on their site.

It was pretty straightforward for me. You gotta pay for shipping back to the UK, which sucks a little, but once they get it, the refund is quick enough.
